Although this university provides a diverse and exceptional experience, they lack in aiding students for financial aid. They cater to only the upper middle class, rich, athletes and Native Americans. I feel that they should improve on providing more grants and scholarships to students, instead of having students go to into serious debt in making students utilise student loans or alternate loans to the max as the only alternative
A great university that does a great job educating the people of North Carolina and is an important institution for the local Lumbee Native American community. The school offers stellar programs in many different fields. The Givens Performing Arts Center Located on the schools campus brings alot to the communities culture. One issue is that while the student body is quite diverse many students feel that there is very little to do in the community or on campus if you are not a Lumbee Indian.
I visited the campus on one of their open houses! I definitely love the atmosphere and how they run their system. they really know how to brighten up their spot on the map. GO BRAVES!
This nursing school is a complete joke. They expect their students to believe that the way their program is set up is how it is in the real world. No what doesn’t make sense is how they expect students to succeed when taking five hard classes their first semester as nursing students and only two easy classes their second semester. The program is made to make people fail. One of the teachers this year was caught cheating and giving answers to students in her clinical group and was asked to resign. The teachers don’t care about you when you express you are struggling or need help they will simply tell you to read your book as if you haven’t already done so before coming to them for guidance. One of the pharmacology PowerPoints was 305 pages long! Oh, and one of the Adult Health 1 professors who has a Masters degree in nursing took one of the exams they administered to students before finals and she failed it. Instead of reviewing the test and revising it so it wasn’t as difficult they still gave it to students and over 80% of the class failed! Absolutely ridiculous! This program only graduates 17-25 students every year and they are happy about this. They accept about 80-90 people and only graduate 17-25 this is ridiculous! Honestly I’m glad I didn’t pass a class by a point and can go somewhere else. This program is a joke and I hope no one is thinking about coming to this horrible place.
My wife and I are both graduates of UNCP. Our son has decided to attend as well. When we went for orientation, I was pleased with how they have progressed. They are student oriented and family friendly. The quality of the education is great. Here they encourage you to be a part and involved. My wife and I both are pleased with the education we earned here.
